Creation of Intellectual Property as a Core Industry
From an international perspective, when we consider Japan’s current situation and reflect on our national mission, we strongly feel the urgent necessity of promoting the advancement of science and technology in our country.
The promotion of science and technology is not only the key factor enabling Japan’s future development but also a path that contributes to the reconstruction and prosperity of Asia. Moreover, it is our duty to serve the people of Asia and actively participate in the progress of human culture worldwide, demonstrating the significance of our nation’s existence.
With this firm conviction, we initiated the establishment of the Japan Science Promotion Foundation (JSPF), aiming to launch a nationwide movement to deepen public understanding of science and technology and to work together in its advancement.
In other words, we do not wish for a situation where individuals are merely dictated by external forces or where people agree with the cause but assume that someone else will take action. Instead, we expect a strong national will where each citizen proactively collaborates in promoting science and technology. We intend to establish an organization and operational structure that aligns with this spirit.
To achieve this, people from all over the country will participate as supporting members, and generous donations from contributors will be strategically allocated to urgently needed scientific and technological research. Additionally, these funds will be used to promote scientific awareness in society, enhance the foundational scientific education in elementary and middle schools, and support collaborations between research and industrial production through special contributions from dedicated individuals.
It should be noted that we do not intend to overemphasize natural sciences at the expense of humanities. On the contrary, we firmly believe that a sincere pursuit of natural science ultimately leads to profound philosophy and a healthy spiritual outlook.
